Kinesiology: Your body has all the answers
Are your energy levels low? Do you feel tired and anxious and not your normal self at all? Have you been to the doctor and been told it’s all just a normal part of ageing, been given pills that do little to ease your symptoms and just decided to live with it, accepting that’s how you will feel from now on?
If so, perhaps think again. You do need to find the root cause of your problem. A pill or two may temporarily address your symptoms, but until you find out what went wrong in the first place, you are unlikely to resolve your issue.
Tune into your body’s wisdom though, and it will give you all the answers you need and point you in the right direction to reboot your health once and for all.
For me, kinesiology has all the answers, and health kinesiology in particular will take you right to the crux of whatever your issue. More often than not, in the hands of an experienced therapist, it will get you back to balance in a short space of time effectively, inexpensively and best of all with no side effects of any kind.
What is kinesiology?
Kinesiology is the therapy that I trained in long ago and have practised ever since. And for me, it’s still one of the best holistic remedies out there as it can be used to identify nutritional deficiencies, release fears and phobias or overcome traumatic events from the past. Despite frequent disapproval from ‘properly’ trained people, it accurately gets directly to the root of whatever your problem might be. Every time.
Kinesiology is a system that uses muscle testing and is based on the premise that things that strengthen your body are good for you, and things that weaken it are not. And that by checking muscle reactions to a wide range of things - from foods to body biochemicals, from thoughts and emotions to body systems and organs and from pesticides and toxins to vitamins and supplements - you can a. identify what might be making you ill and b. find out what will get you better again.
For example, you may have been prescribed some sort of supplement by a nutritionist. But is their diagnosis of your problem accurate? And is what they recommend actually going to do anything at all for you? A quick muscle check by an experienced kinesiologist will give you a clear ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer to both questions. And if it's no, the therapist will work out what is at the root of the problem and find a replacement medicine that will improve your symptoms in a matter of minutes. Why waste time and money buying products that don’t work for you when you can more wisely spend your hard earned cash on something that does?
Queen of all health kinesiologists – in my opinion anyway – is Franky Kossy, who has been teaching the therapy and practising out of a Harley Street Clinic for more than 17 years. She was my teacher, and an excellent one at that, explaining a complex subject clearly and simply, and enthusing every one of her students, so that many have gone on to become professionals themselves.
Franky describes herself as a ‘translator’, and that is the joy of kinesiology. It’s not about what the therapist thinks might be the issue, she is just reporting back what your own body is flagging as the problem.
Kinesiologists are continually asking your body questions, and through muscle response, your body is answering back - with either a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’ reply. Your body always know the answers if you know how to ask the right question and could hear its answers. Kinesiologists are trained in both skills. Your weight gain and bloating may not be down to the gluten allergy you were told was the problem after all, but to inflammation caused by a urine infection instead. Is your liver overloaded? Are your kidneys only functioning at 40%? Kinesiology identifies the issues with accuracy and precision and then offers ways to solve them.
Franky is funny, kind, bubbly and very easy to talk to. Most importantly, after years of experience, she is very wise and goes quickly to the heart of whatever is your problem. As she says, the key to balancing health is to remember that everyone is different. You may have exactly the same disease as someone else, but both of you will have got sick for very different reasons. In one case the trigger might be emotional; in the other, a combination of both physical and emotional factors. Logically, therefore, each will get better in a different way, needing a custom made prescription that resolves the cause of their particular problem, not a one size fits all pill that merely masks the symptoms. Kinesiology can identify a specific route back to health that works for you; show you what to do and monitor your progress, adapting remedies as you improve.
A session with Franky lasts for 55 minutes, and during that time she will work out any areas where there is a problem. Like an acupuncturist, she is detecting where energy blockages in the body have created a problem. Using your arm to test muscle strength and weakness gets a yes/no reaction that directs her to where and how blockages need releasing.
Stress, injury, emotional trauma, pollution or electromagnetic fields can all cause these energy blockages, which typically show up as either emotional or physical illnesses. Once Franky has removed the blockage, however, harmony and flow are restored and symptoms usually disappear.
Franky is also senior UK tutor for Health Kinesiology, and teaches from premises in Stratford, East London. Each January, a new class starts up for existing therapists and interested beginners with further levels scheduled throughout the rest of the year. Personally, I don’t think there is a therapy out there that isn’t transformed by an understanding and basic knowledge of muscle testing.
Listen to your body. It always has the answers if you can only hear what it is saying. Experiment. Try a session and see how you go.
